Defending Oklahoma Values
My core beliefs are that Oklahomans are supposed to love our neighbors and take care of those in need. Donald Trump and his “big beautiful bill” are taking a sledgehammer to the institutions that made this nation great. I’m not going to allow that to happen – not without a fight.
Trump’s so-called “big billionaire bill” will be devastating. During peacetime in a strong economic climate, it makes no sense to add $2.4 trillion to the deficit and leave 11 million more Americans uninsured to pay for an unprecedented tax break for the richest of the rich. We don’t cut off Oklahomans to prop up billionaires. The new law is now forcing massive cuts to programs benefiting our veterans, including crisis hotlines and mental health care.
Oklahoma’s elected officials are not behaving like responsible adults. Our kids and grandkids don’t deserve to be saddled with this crushing debt.
Protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
These programs are lifelines for vulnerable Americans—we must protect and strengthen them. These programs keep families afloat—we can’t afford to lose them.
Social Security provides retirement, disability and survivor benefits to over 65 million Americans, keeping 22 million people out of poverty annually. In Oklahoma, 838,254 people currently receive Social Security. In CD-5, there are 25,502 Oklahomans who rely on Social Security. It’s not just for retirees—it supports disabled workers, children who’ve lost a parent and surviving spouses. Without Social Security, one in four seniors would live in poverty. Medicare ensures healthcare for 65 million seniors and people with disabilities, including 804,937 Oklahomans. Medicare ensures seniors and people with disabilities can afford doctor visits, hospital stays and prescriptions.
Medicaid covers 85 million low-income Americans, including children, pregnant women, seniors, and people with disabilities. There are 984,000 Oklahomans on Medicaid, including 25,800 who live in CD-5. Medicaid covers nursing home care for seniors, health care for low-income kids, and support for pregnant moms.

National Security
We can respect the rule of law AND treat people with dignity. A secure border and a fair immigration system aren’t opposites—they’re both essential for a stronger Oklahoma.
Congress can ensure that the commitment to the rule of law is upheld while still treating every individual with dignity and respect. Respecting the law means embracing the principles that safeguard our communities and our rights while fostering a fair and just society.
A secure border ensures that our nation’s safety is maintained, and that our resources are preserved for those who depend on them. At the same time, a fair immigration system provides a pathway for individuals to contribute to and enrich our society, proving that these ideals are not mutually exclusive, but rather, both essential for building a stronger America.

Smart Enforcement
National security requires Congress to provide more border agents, drones and inspection sensors to stop international drugs trafficking and illegal border crossings.
Fix the Asylum System
Congress must support reforms to speed up court decisions to be done in weeks, not years. Congress must also make it possible to screen applicants earlier whenever possible in their home countries or at regional border centers.
Expand Legal Pathways
Oklahoma businesses facing labor shortages need more work visas, particularly in agriculture, healthcare and tech.
Protect Veterans
It’s essential to stand up for those who stood up for America: Veterans. Trump wants to slash Veterans’ medical care by gutting the VA system. This would result in fewer hospitals, longer wait time and lower standards of care. Plus, his plan would dismantle a crisis helpline for veterans experiencing mental health crises putting those who have served our country at great risk. This is not OK.
Their service comes at a profound cost – long deployments away from family, physical and emotional wounds, and the burden of defending freedom in the face of danger. These men and women have sacrificed comfort, safety, and sometimes their lives to uphold the values America holds dear. It is not just a matter of policy – it is a moral obligation – to ensure they receive the highest standard of care and unwavering support when they return home. Undermining the VA betrays that duty and dishonors the promise we make to every person who wears the uniform.

Congress must uphold the promises made to those who fought for America. I’ll fight to improve healthcare for our bravest men and women.
Economic Security & Inflation
While everyday working families struggle, the billionaires are getting richer. We need to crack down on corporate greed with stronger antitrust enforcement, windfall profit taxes and penalties for food and fuel price manipulation.
Oklahoma families are being crushed by rising costs, as groceries have surged, rent has hit record highs, utility costs rise and insurance costs jump year after year. No one should be forced to decide between putting food on the table, securing necessary medicine or keeping the lights on at home.
Meanwhile, far-right MAGAs propose cutting essential programs like SNAP, providing even more tax breaks for billionaires and allowing price-gougers to escape accountability for their actions. I believe in – and will fight for – an economy that serves the working people, ensuring that prosperity and opportunity are shared by everyone, not just the wealthy.

Let’s cap insulin costs for all Oklahoma working families like we did for seniors on Medicare—and keep fighting to cut the costs of groceries, utilities and childcare for all Sooners.
Expand Food Assistance
Strengthen Sooner families by rebuilding SNAP benefits, make all Oklahoma children’s public school meals free and expand WIC to ensure no child goes hungry.
Housing Relief
Support building more new housing for Oklahoma working families, ban junk fees and provide tax credits for first-time homebuyers.
Protect Workers & Families
Raise the minimum wage to $17/hour, expand the Child Tax Credit and slash healthcare costs by letting Medicare negotiate drug prices.
