Jena Nelson Comments on Stephanie Bice Revelations Regarding In-Person Town Halls
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (July 31, 2025) — CD-5 Congressional Candidate Jena Nelson made the following remarks regarding Stephanie Bice’s comments on her avoidance of in-person town halls since August 26, 2021:
“Four years is a long time to avoid your constituents in any setting, but it’s completely egregious and unacceptable to dodge the people who elected you for almost two full terms. In-person town halls are pillars of democracy and civic participation. Stephanie’s remarks during her July 30th tele-phony town hall show she places no value on this treasured institution and fears facing her CD-5 constituents. She claims the remote town halls help elderly people listen in without having to drive on dark roads during winter months. She claims she doesn’t censor her questioners. She claims she doesn’t dodge her constituents. I’m surprised Stephanie’s never heard of a livestream – you can actually engage with your District in-person without excluding people who want to watch at home.”
“Bice’s actions make it clear that she doesn’t serve the 820,000 people in her District, but only an audience of one: Donald Trump. My team and I have looked back at her local media appearances and social media presence and based on that analysis, it appears she is spending 90 percent of her time in D.C. and almost completely ignoring her District at home. I’m not afraid of conflict. Send me to Congress and I’ll fight for everyone in CD-5.”
