Jena Nelson Announces First Fundraising Results
CD-5 Candidate Raises More Than $100,000 in Six Weeks
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – From July 19 through August 31, Jena Nelson for Congress raised $101,698 from 2,002 contributors. The average donation was just under $51. This strong early result shows residents of CD-5 are ready for real, responsive leadership.
“I’m so grateful to those who supported the campaign with their money, their time and their encouragement,” Nelson said. “The people of CD-5 are standing up and demanding a Representative who will show up for them both in the district and in Congress – that’s what I’m going to provide them.”
“My opponent is increasingly absent and unresponsive to her constituents. She’s transformed into a D.C. insider more at home with lobbyists and Trump loyalists than the people she serves. It’s been more than four years since her last in-person town hall or open forum. I was surprised to learn that she had scheduled a ‘Coffee with a Congresswoman’ event for late September, but that was quickly canceled after I pointed out it was happening outside the district.”
